MHA Portal Launched to Gather Public Input on Demographic Changes
The Hindu · india
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has launched a dedicated portal for government bodies, the public, and NGOs to submit inputs on demographic changes observed in India, particularly post-2011. The portal aims to collect information on frequent demographic shifts, which the MHA states are often caused by external factors like illegal immigration and irregular population mobility, impacting public services and social cohesion. The collected data will assist a High-Level Committee, chaired by retired Supreme Court Judge Prakash Prabhakar Naolekar, in analyzing the causes and consequences of these changes.
