RSS Wing Urges Centre to Deny Starlink Licence Over Security Concerns
The Hindu · india
SJM, the economic wing of the RSS, has urged the Union government to deny Elon Musk-owned Starlink a licence for commercial satellite broadband services in India. Citing security concerns, SJM stated that internet services sometimes need to be suspended during riots and terrorism-related incidents to prevent the spread of rumours. The organisation questioned Starlink's ability to restrict services in specific areas at the government's direction and raised concerns about data bypassing ground stations via laser links.
