Deep Depression to Hit Odisha, Andhra Pradesh Coasts

A weather system over the Bay of Bengal is forecast to intensify into a deep depression and move towards the coast, impacting Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall and strong winds. Landfall is expected between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur on the night of September 23 and early September 24. Odisha authorities have shut schools and prepared shelters, with a red alert issued for southern.
