India's captain Shreyas Iyer described the team's resilience during a rain-disrupted build-up to the Asian Games final as a "sign of a champion team." Despite significant delays and limited practice, the squad focused on preparation rather than making excuses. India successfully defended its title by defeating Pakistan by 19 runs in the final held in Nisshin. Iyer highlighted the collective effort of the players, including Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Jasprit Bumrah, in securing the gold medal.
