PMC Official Cites Decade-Long Staffing Gap

A Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) official revealed that a decade-long gap in hiring cleanliness staff is a primary reason for the city's persistent garbage disposal issues. The civic body has not added new personnel for waste management in the last ten years. This significant manpower shortage directly impacts the efficiency of garbage collection and street sweeping, leading to visible accumulation of waste across Pune.

पुणे म्युनिसिपल कॉर्पोरेशन (PMC) के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि शहर में कचरा निपटान की लगातार समस्या की मुख्य वजह पिछले दस सालों से सफाई कर्मचारियों की भर्ती न होना है। पिछले एक दशक में कचरा प्रबंधन के लिए कोई नया कर्मचारी नहीं जोड़ा गया है। कर्मचारियों की इस भारी कमी का सीधा असर कचरा उठाने और सड़कों की सफाई की क्षमता पर पड़ रहा है, जिससे पूरे पुणे में कचरा जमा हो रहा है।
