Europe's Grain Production Drops by 1.67 Crore Tonnes Due to Heatwave and Drought

Europe is facing significant agricultural losses this year due to intense heat and prolonged drought, with grain production expected to fall by approximately 1.67 crore tonnes between June and September. This reduction in wheat, maize, and barley output is estimated to cost farmers around €3.2 billion. France has been the most severely affected, anticipating a loss of 58 lakh tonnes of grain and a financial impact of €1.47 billion. Hungary, Britain, Germany, and Spain have also reported substantial crop damage.

इस साल यूरोप को भीषण गर्मी और लंबे समय से चले आ रहे सूखे के कारण भारी कृषि नुकसान झेलना पड़ रहा है। जून से सितंबर के बीच अनाज उत्पादन में करीब 1.67 करोड़ टन की कमी आने का अनुमान है। गेहूं, मक्का और जौ की पैदावार में इस कमी से किसानों को लगभग 3.2 अरब यूरो का नुकसान होने का अनुमान है। फ्रांस सबसे बुरी तरह प्रभावित हुआ है, जहां 58 लाख टन अनाज की हानि और 1.47 अरब यूरो के वित्तीय नुकसान की आशंका है। हंगरी, ब्रिटेन, जर्मनी और स्पेन ने भी फसलों को भारी नुकसान की सूचना दी है।
