CPI(M) State committee member M.V. Jayarajan has strongly criticised the ruling UDF government, asserting that it has "fallen apart" and is no longer functioning as a united front. He pointed to Congress infighting, which he claims has begun unusually early in the current tenure. Jayarajan further alleged the government is neglecting crucial public issues like power outages and healthcare, and criticised its handling of recent school games and a university hostel incident, accusing police inaction and excessive force.
