Scientists have identified a new species of wild cat at a sanctuary in Bolivia, marking the first such discovery in over a century. The tiny, spotted feline, named Leopardus tilcayo, was found to be genetically distinct from known species after living at the sanctuary for years. Researchers compared its DNA with samples from across South America to confirm its unique lineage, which split from relatives about 1.4 million years ago.
