These plants are known for producing fruit for five to seven years after a single planting, requiring only minimal annual pruning. उत्तर प्रदेश के बलिया में किसान ज्ञानचंद शर्मा ने 'बाल सुंदरी' और 'मिस इंडिया' एप्पल बेर की किस्मों की खेती करके ₹12 लाख का शानदार कारोबार किया है। उन्होंने दो साल पहले 400 पौधे लगाए थे, जिनसे अब बंपर फसल मिल रही है। ये पौधे एक बार लगाने के बाद पांच से सात साल तक फल देने के लिए जाने जाते हैं, और इन्हें साल में बस थोड़ी सी छंटाई की जरूरत होती है। हर पौधा 50 किलो तक फल दे सकता है, जो बाजार में अच्छी कीमत पर बिकता है, जिससे इस अनोखे बागवानी उद्यम की लाभप्रदता साबित होती है।
