In a pioneering initiative, IIT Madras is creating detailed anatomical maps of 100 human brains, covering the entire lifespan from foetal development to old age. This project aims to provide an unprecedented cellular-level view of brain architecture. Unlike typical MRI scans that offer millimetre-scale information, these new atlases will reveal finer details. This advanced imaging could potentially uncover insights into brain structure and function that conventional methods cannot resolve, advancing neurological research.
