Allahabad High Court Orders Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Elections Within Three Months

The Allahabad High Court has mandated that Uttar Pradesh must conduct its three-tier Panchayat elections within the next three months. This significant ruling clears the path for long-pending local body elections across the state. A bench comprising Justice Ajit Kumar and Justice Garima Prasad issued the order after hearing multiple petitions challenging issues related to the tenure of Gram Panchayats. The court specified that current Gram Pradhans, who were appointed as administrators by the government, will continue in their roles for the next three months.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने आदेश दिया है कि उत्तर प्रदेश को अगले तीन महीनों के भीतर अपने तीन-स्तरीय पंचायत चुनाव कराने होंगे। इस महत्वपूर्ण फैसले से राज्य भर में लंबे समय से लंबित स्थानीय निकाय चुनावों का मार्ग प्रशस्त हो गया है। जस्टिस अजीत कुमार और जस्टिस गरिमा प्रसाद की एक पीठ ने ग्राम पंचायतों के कार्यकाल से संबंधित मुद्दों को चुनौती देने वाली कई याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई के बाद यह आदेश जारी किया। अदालत ने स्पष्ट किया कि वर्तमान ग्राम प्रधान, जिन्हें सरकार ने प्रशासक के रूप में नियुक्त किया था, अगले तीन महीनों तक अपनी भूमिकाओं में बने रहेंगे।
