जेएनयू से बर्खास्त किए गए कांग्रेस सांसद अंगोमचा बिमोल एकोइजम ने विश्वविद्यालय की कार्रवाई को 'डायन का शिकार' बताया है और यौन उत्पीड़न की शिकायतों से निपटने में कानूनी उल्लंघनों का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने दावा किया है कि उन्हें बर्खास्तगी के आधिकारिक आदेश या समिति की सिफारिशें नहीं मिली हैं, और वह कानूनी सहारा लेने का संकल्प लेते हैं। मणिपुर के सीएम वाई खेमचंद सिंह ने एकोइजम की लोकसभा से इस्तीफे की मांग की, इसे 'गहराई से परेशान करने वाला' बताया। सीएम ने कहा कि यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोपों की जांच के बाद उचित प्रक्रिया का पालन किया गया था, और एकोइजम में लोगों का प्रतिनिधित्व करने का नैतिक अधिकार नहीं बचा है।
