Cop Clings To SUV Roof Chasing Gutkha Smugglers

A Coimbatore policeman clung to the roof rails of an SUV for over 40 kilometers to apprehend gutkha smugglers. Head constable M. Velmurugan held onto the vehicle as it sped at over 100 kmph, carrying approximately 230 kg of banned tobacco products. The smugglers, from Rajasthan, attempted to evade police after being intercepted near Kovilpalayam. The dramatic chase ended with the arrest of three individuals in Tiruppur district, though two sustained fractures.
