Former Ropar Judge Challenges Dismissal Over 2017 Judicial Exam Paper Leak

A former additional district and sessions judge from Ropar, Balwinder Kumar Sharma, has challenged his departmental inquiry and dismissal from service. The inquiry had indicted him in the 2017 Haryana Civil Services (Judicial Branch) preliminary exam paper leak case. Sharma was sentenced to five years imprisonment in August 2024 for his role. He argues the inquiry violated natural justice and constitutional provisions, claiming vital defence evidence was ignored. Sharma seeks quashing of the proceedings, reinstatement with full benefits, and his suspension period treated as duty.

रोपड़ के पूर्व अतिरिक्त जिला और सत्र न्यायाधीश, बलविंदर कुमार शर्मा ने अपनी विभागीय जांच और सेवा से बर्खास्तगी को चुनौती दी है। जांच में उन्हें 2017 हरियाणा सिविल सेवा (न्यायिक शाखा) प्रारंभिक परीक्षा पेपर लीक मामले में दोषी पाया गया था। अगस्त 2024 में भूमिका के लिए शर्मा को पांच साल की कैद की सजा सुनाई गई थी। उनका तर्क है कि जांच ने प्राकृतिक न्याय और संवैधानिक प्रावधानों का उल्लंघन किया है, और बचाव के महत्वपूर्ण सबूतों को नजरअंदाज किया गया है। शर्मा ने कार्यवाही को रद्द करने, पूर्ण लाभ के साथ बहाली और उनके निलंबन की अवधि को ड्यूटी मानने की मांग की है।
