जून के आखिर में यूरोप में भीषण गर्मी के कारण 10,000 से ज़्यादा लोगों की मौत हुई। 65 साल से ऊपर के लोग सबसे ज़्यादा प्रभावित हुए। वैज्ञानिकों का कहना है कि यह भयानक गर्मी और इसका बार-बार होना इंसानी गतिविधियों से हो रहे जलवायु परिवर्तन की वजह से है। फ्रांस और बेल्जियम में जून के आखिरी हफ़्ते में मरने वालों की संख्या बहुत ज़्यादा थी। इससे पता चलता है कि हमें तुरंत जलवायु परिवर्तन से निपटने के उपाय करने होंगे।
