152 Candidates Vie For 11 UP Legislative Council Seats; Polling Oct 23

A total of 152 candidates are in the fray for 11 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council seats, comprising five Graduates' and six Teachers' constituencies, following the withdrawal of seven nominations. Polling is scheduled for from 8 am to 4 pm across 2,697 polling stations, with 14,81,310 electors eligible to vote. Varanasi Graduates' constituency has the highest number of candidates with 24. The elections will fill vacancies arising from the expiry of sitting members' terms.

सात नामांकन वापस लेने के बाद, 11 उत्तर प्रदेश विधान परिषद सीटों के लिए कुल 152 उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं, जिनमें पांच स्नातक और छह शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र शामिल हैं। मतदान 8 बजे सुबह से 4 बजे शाम तक 2,697 मतदान केंद्रों पर होगा, जिसमें 14,81,310 मतदाता वोट डालने के योग्य हैं। वाराणसी स्नातक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में सबसे अधिक 24 उम्मीदवार हैं। ये चुनाव मौजूदा सदस्यों के कार्यकाल की समाप्ति से उत्पन्न रिक्तियों को भरेंगे।
