Gwalior Temple Crash: Driver Took Detour To Avoid Toll Tax, Killing 15

The driver of a truck that killed 15 people near a Gwalior temple allegedly used Google Maps to bypass a ₹3,000 toll, police stated. The vehicle lost control on a sloping curve about 50 metres from the shrine, hitting devotees and crashing into the temple gate. Driver Dilbag Singh, unfamiliar with the route, was arrested along with the truck owner. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced compensation for victims, while eight policemen were suspended and a city SP transferred. A mechanical forensic report is awaited.

ग्वालियर के पास एक मंदिर में 15 लोगों को कुचलने वाले ट्रक के ड्राइवर ने कथित तौर पर ₹3,000 का टोल बचाने के लिए Google Maps का इस्तेमाल किया, पुलिस ने बताया। यह गाड़ी मंदिर से करीब 50 मीटर पहले एक ढलान वाले मोड़ पर नियंत्रण खो बैठी, जिससे भक्तों को टक्कर लगी और वह मंदिर के गेट से टकरा गई। ड्राइवर दिलबाग सिंह, जो इस रास्ते से अनजान था, को ट्रक मालिक के साथ गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। मुख्यमंत्री मोहन यादव ने पीड़ितों के लिए मुआवजे की घोषणा की, जबकि आठ पुलिसकर्मियों को निलंबित कर दिया गया और एक सिटी एसपी का तबादला कर दिया गया। एक मैकेनिकल फोरेंसिक रिपोर्ट का इंतजार है।
