Times of India · politics
Karnataka minister Satish Jarkiholi has clarified his earlier remarks on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, stating his comments were misinterpreted. He intended to convey that an alleged BJP attempt to delete Congress-supporting voters from electoral rolls using Form 7 had been foiled. Jarkiholi emphasized his opposition to any illegal removal of eligible voters' names, attributing the success in Karnataka to the efforts of Rahul Gandhi and D.K. Shivakumar. He reiterated his firm stance against disenfranchising voters and protecting democratic rights.
