Uttar Pradesh launched its Textile and Garmenting Policy in October 2022 to attract investment and boost the sector. The policy offers significant incentives, including capital subsidies of up to 25% on machinery, capped at Rs 100 crore per unit. It also provides interest subsidies for up to seven years and land cost subsidies. Additionally, exemptions on stamp duty and electricity duty are available, alongside freight support for garment exports. This framework aims to leverage the state's existing handloom and powerloom base while encouraging modern manufacturing.
