Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar announced that an understanding has been reached with sugar factory representatives regarding the sugar price issue after extensive discussions. The talks, which began Monday morning, continued until midnight. Farmers have been demanding an incentive of ₹6,000 per tonne for sugarcane. A final decision will be made based on the rate fixed by the central government, following assurances from Union Minister Pralhad Joshi. Farmers called off their planned protest after receiving these assurances, recognizing the need to protect livelihoods and address rising costs.
