Justice BV Nagarathna has begun writing the judgment for the Sabarimala reference, making her the first judge on the nine-member constitution bench to do so. This case could significantly alter the Supreme Court's stance on religious freedom and judicial review. Justice Nagarathna, the sole woman on the bench, had previously voiced opinions on key constitutional questions during the hearings. The nine-judge bench, led by the Chief Justice, reserved its judgment on May 14 after extensive arguments.
