Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy has requested the Union and State governments to assist farmers in his constituency whose banana plantations were destroyed by strong winds. The Pulivendula Assembly constituency, known for its extensive banana cultivation, experienced significant damage with many trees uprooted or tilted. Reddy visited affected villages and assessed the crop loss, which occurred when the harvest was nearly ready. He is advocating for compensation of ₹50,000 per acre for the farmers who have suffered substantial financial losses.
