Bombay HC Forms Task Force For Fisherfolk Payout Over Thane Creek Bridge III

The Bombay High Court has established a task force to determine compensation for fisherfolk families impacted by the construction of Thane Creek Bridge (TCB)-III. This task force is expected to align with the state government's policy for project-affected fishermen and complete its work within six months. The court noted that the fishermen community should not face prolonged delays. Previously, the court had directed MSRDC to deposit Rs 10 crore as interim compensation for 937 families. The High Court found the TISS report's proposed Rs 141 crore compensation disproportionate and flawed.
