Indian Woman Aishwarya Sridhar Wins Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award

Aishwarya Sridhar, the first Indian woman to win at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards in London, received a camera on her 11th birthday. Her photograph, 'Lights of Passion,' captured thousands of fireflies illuminating trees in Bhandardara, Maharashtra. Sridhar, who grew up near natural spaces in Panvel, has expanded her work into filmmaking and storytelling to highlight environmental issues. Her debut documentary focused on the Panje wetland, and she has also been involved in conservation initiatives and received the Diana Award in 2019 for her efforts.
