A passenger on a FlyDubai flight used knowledge gained from watching the TV series 'Mayday' to help stabilize the aircraft during a co-pilot's attack. Yaniv Hayun told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he knew what to do because of the show after the co-pilot stabbed the captain. The plane plummeted over 17,000 feet in two minutes before passengers and crew subdued the attacker. Hayun assisted in pulling back on the controls, helping the plane level out before off-duty pilots took over for an emergency landing.
