Gujarat Themis Secures $58 Million For Japanese Acquisition

Indian drugmaker Gujarat Themis Biosyn Ltd. has secured private credit funding of $58 million to support its acquisition of Japanese peer MicroBiopharm Japan Co. The financing was provided by Asian private credit fund Orion Capital Asia. This move highlights the increasing reliance on private credit for overseas expansion by Asian companies, as these lenders often offer faster funding than traditional banks. Gujarat Themis also raised additional rupee debt for the acquisition and general corporate purposes.
