Rahul Gandhi's 'alcohol' jibe at Bhagwant Mann escalates AAP-Congress rivalry

Hindustan Times · politics

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann smelled of alcohol in Parliament. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly condemned Gandhi's remarks as "below-the-belt" and unbecoming of his stature. AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj accused the Congress and BJP of jointly targeting Punjab, questioning why similar allegations were not made against BJP chief ministers. Gandhi's comments came during an Insaaf Rally where he also criticized the AAP government over drug issues and farmer concerns.
