In 2014, radicalised Pakistan Navy officers planned to hijack the nuclear-capable warship PNS Zulfiquar. Lieutenants Zeeshan Rafiq and Owais Jakhrani, members of Al-Qaeda, aimed to sail the vessel into the Arabian Sea and attack US Navy warships. They had smuggled weapons aboard and created duplicate keys to access missile rooms. Their plan involved disabling the crew and captain before targeting USNS Supply and its escort.
