The Supreme Court has granted bail to former Rajasthan PHED minister Mahesh Joshi and official Mukesh Pathak in a corruption case involving alleged irregularities worth over Rs 979 crore in Jal Jeevan Mission tenders. The court stated that the gravity of allegations alone cannot justify indefinite pre-trial detention, even while acknowledging the seriousness of the charges. The case stems from an FIR alleging that two private firms secured contracts using forged documents for tenders floated between 2021 and 2023.
