This initiative, valued at ₹67 lakh for a one-year contract, aims to support the state government's 'Meendum Manjappai' scheme, which enforces a ban on single-use plastics. The cloth bags will be sold for ₹5 each. The selected bidder will be responsible for operating and maintaining the vending machines, refilling bags, and conducting regular inspections.
