Teachers and headmasters in Maharashtra have been personally funding the state's mid-day meal program for four months due to delays in disbursing PM Poshan funds. This issue arises amid a severe drought affecting 70% of the state, making school meals a crucial source of nutrition for many children. Cooks have also not received their salaries. Officials attribute the delay to issues with the Single Nodal Agency (SNA) SPARSH system for direct cash transfers.
