Somali Pirates Killed Five Oil Tanker Crew Before Rescue, Official Says

Five crew members of an oil tanker seized by pirates off Somalia's coast were killed before local security forces retook the vessel, a senior regional official told the BBC. The deceased included three Pakistanis, one Indian, and one national of Myanmar. Four other crew members sustained injuries, with three Pakistanis and one Indian among them. The tanker, carrying approximately 18,500 barrels of oil, was hijacked in April by six armed men. Sixteen suspected pirates have been arrested following the incident.
