Medical Education Rules Denotified; Annual Disclosures Risk Lacking Verification

The National Medical Commission has denotified the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023, rendering specific penalties for non-compliance inapplicable. While actions taken previously remain unaffected, colleges now face fewer repercussions for issues like not paying stipends, as penalties are not clearly defined in the NMC Act. Although annual disclosure reports are still mandatory, the denotification removes the verification aspects previously included in evaluations. This means medical colleges' disclosures may become unverified claims without independent assessment by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board.
