Uttar Pradesh Sees 3,786 Fewer Polling Booths Approved By Election Commission

The Election Commission of India has approved a new delimitation of polling stations across Uttar Pradesh, ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. Following this decision, the total number of polling stations in the state has decreased from 1,77,516 to 1,73,730, resulting in a reduction of 3,786 booths. This redistribution was based on a standard of 1,200 voters per booth and began. Voters whose booths have been changed will be informed by Booth Level Officers, and all family members will now be listed at the same polling station.

भारत के चुनाव आयोग ने 2027 के विधानसभा चुनावों से पहले उत्तर प्रदेश में मतदान केंद्रों के नए परिसीमन को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस फैसले के बाद, राज्य में मतदान केंद्रों की कुल संख्या 1,77,516 से घटकर 1,73,730 हो गई है, जिससे 3,786 बूथों की कमी आई है। यह पुनर्वितरण प्रति बूथ 1,200 मतदाताओं के मानक पर आधारित था और शुरू हो गया है। जिन मतदाताओं के बूथ बदले गए हैं, उन्हें बूथ लेवल अधिकारियों (BLOs) द्वारा सूचित किया जाएगा, और अब परिवार के सभी सदस्यों को एक ही मतदान केंद्र पर सूचीबद्ध किया जाएगा।
