आज़ादी के बाद पहली बार, भारत की 2027 की जनगणना में जाति का रिकॉर्ड रखा जाएगा। यह एक बड़ा जनसांख्यिकीय कदम है। 2011 के 29 सवालों की जगह अब प्रश्नावली में 40 सवाल होंगे, जिनमें जाति, डिजिटल साक्षरता, आधार, मोबाइल नंबर, बैंक खाते और वोटर आईडी की जानकारी शामिल है। इसका मकसद नीतियों, कल्याणकारी योजनाओं और प्रतिनिधित्व को बेहतर बनाना है।
