EC Bars TMC Factions From Using Party Symbol

The Election Commission has barred both rival Trinamool Congress factions from using the party name and its election symbol in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly bypolls. This interim order comes ahead of the October 6 bypolls for the Nandigram and Rejinagar Assembly seats. Rival factions, led by Mamata Banerjee and Ritabrata Banerjee, had both claimed the TMC identity and its twin-flowers-on-grass symbol.

चुनाव आयोग ने पश्चिम बंगाल में होने वाले उपचुनावों से पहले तृणमूल कांग्रेस के दोनों गुटों को पार्टी का नाम और चुनाव चिन्ह इस्तेमाल करने से रोक दिया है। यह फैसला ममता बनर्जी और रीताब्रता बनर्जी के गुटों के बीच पार्टी की पहचान और 'दो फूल' वाले चुनाव चिन्ह पर चल रहे विवाद के बाद आया है। यह उपचुनाव 6 अक्टूबर को नंदीग्राम और रेजीनगर सीटों पर होंगे।
