SME Body Asks RBI for 90-Day EDF Filing Relief for Small Service Exporters
Business Standard · business
ISF has urged the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to temporarily suspend the recurring Export Declaration Form (EDF) filing requirement for 90 days for micro and small service exporters. This relief is sought while a simplified mechanism is finalised, as the current framework could impose disproportionate compliance costs on freelancers and digital exporters. ISF highlighted that even with regulated payment channels, maintaining invoice-level records is burdensome for small businesses. They proposed a simplified annual compliance route or bank-led automated reporting for exporters below a certain threshold.
