AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has accused the Tamil Nadu government of orchestrating a massive corruption scandal in power procurement. He flagged the short-term purchase of electricity from private firms at an alleged exorbitant average rate of ₹35 per unit, claiming mismanagement has plunged the state into distress and frequent power cuts. Palaniswami contrasted this with neighbouring Andhra Pradesh's lower procurement rates and recalled Tamil Nadu's power-surplus status under previous AIADMK governments.

एआईएडीएमके के महासचिव एडप्पाडी के. पलानीस्वामी ने तमिलनाडु सरकार पर बिजली खरीद में एक बड़े भ्रष्टाचार घोटाले का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने निजी कंपनियों से कथित तौर पर ₹35 प्रति यूनिट की अत्यधिक औसत दर पर बिजली की अल्पकालिक खरीद को उजागर किया, और दावा किया कि कुप्रबंधन के कारण राज्य संकट और बार-बार बिजली कटौती का शिकार हुआ है। पलानीस्वामी ने इसकी तुलना पड़ोसी आंध्र प्रदेश की कम खरीद दरों से की और पिछली एआईएडीएमके सरकारों के तहत तमिलनाडु की बिजली-अधिशेष स्थिति को याद किया।
