Forest Dept Seizes 18 Monitor Lizards, Arrests 3 For Wildlife Smuggling

The forest department in Sikar district has seized 18 monitor lizards from a bus traveling on the Ajitgarh–Makrana route. Three individuals were arrested for wildlife smuggling, and one juvenile was detained during the operation. Officials also discovered a sack of shatavari, a medicinal plant, among the seized items. सीकर जिले के वन विभाग ने अजीतगढ़–मकराना मार्ग पर जा रही एक बस से 18 छिपकलियां जब्त की हैं। वन्यजीव तस्करी के आरोप में तीन लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है और एक नाबालिग को हिरासत में लिया गया है। अधिकारियों ने जब्त किए गए सामानों में से औषधीय पौधा शतावरी की एक बोरी भी बरामद की है। विभाग वर्तमान में वन्यजीवों के मूल और इच्छित गंतव्य की जांच कर रहा है ताकि यह पता लगाया जा सके कि क्या कोई बड़ा तस्करी नेटवर्क शामिल है। यह कार्रवाई क्षेत्र में अवैध वन्यजीव व्यापार से निपटने के चल रहे प्रयासों को उजागर करती है।
