Ethiopian forces and allied fighters have reportedly expanded their control across the Tigray region, entering the historic city of Aksum. A pro-government militia, the Tigray Peace Force, claimed that Eritrean troops have retreated towards the border and sustained significant casualties, though Eritrea's Information Minister denied these claims. Independent conflict monitors documented Ethiopian forces entering Aksum while rival Tigrayan fighters remained in surrounding areas. Eritrean troops were also reported to be withdrawing across the border following advances by Ethiopian forces into several strategic towns.
