North Korea has launched multiple ballistic missiles towards the sea off its east coast, according to South Korea's military. One missile traveled over 900km from the Pyongyang area. Japan's coastguard reported detecting two unidentified projectiles believed to be ballistic missiles. South Korea's presidential office stated these launches violate UN Security Council resolutions and urged an immediate halt. This action escalates tensions on the Korean Peninsula, following recent weapons tests by both nations, including South Korea's hypersonic missile test.
