TOI - Delhi · india
Tamil Nadu has experienced a significant improvement in rainfall, recording a 51% surplus in just 27 days of the northeast monsoon. The state received 217mm of rain against a normal of 144mm between October 1 and 27. This surge has helped 18 of the 23 previously rainfall-deficient districts move into normal or excess categories. While most districts now show adequate rainfall, five districts continue to record cumulative deficits, though these have narrowed. Officials caution that groundwater and reservoir levels may not have fully recovered, emphasizing the need for continued monitoring.
