A Kerala consumer court has ordered a marriage bureau to pay ₹30,000 to a man after he failed to find a bride for nine years. The bureau had promised to find a suitable match within six months. The man had paid ₹15,000 for the service. The court ruled that the bureau's deficiency in service caused mental agony and financial loss to the complainant, necessitating compensation.

केरल के एक कंज्यूमर कोर्ट ने एक मैरिज ब्यूरो को एक आदमी को ₹30,000 देने का आदेश दिया है। ऐसा इसलिए हुआ क्योंकि ब्यूरो नौ साल बाद भी उस आदमी के लिए दुल्हन नहीं ढूंढ पाया। ब्यूरो ने छह महीने में रिश्ता तय करने का वादा किया था। आदमी ने इस सेवा के लिए ₹15,000 दिए थे। कोर्ट ने कहा कि सेवा में कमी की वजह से आदमी को मानसिक परेशानी और आर्थिक नुकसान हुआ है, इसलिए हर्जाना मिलना चाहिए।
