WHO has released new guidelines to make contraception more accessible and safer globally. For women, oral contraceptive pills can now be taken continuously for up to a year, and implants are recommended for five years. Emergency contraception like mifepristone (10-50mg) should be taken within five days of unprotected sex. WHO also advised against drugs like quinestrol due to side effects.
