Ayurvedic Doctor Warns Against Popular Social Media Wellness Trends

HT - Lifestyle · lifestyle

An Ayurvedic doctor is cautioning against popular wellness trends seen on social media, such as oil pulling, detox teas, and DIY Panchakarma. Dr. Suneera Bagga explains that Ayurveda is a personalized system, and these practices, when stripped of their context, can be ineffective or even harmful. Aggressive oil swishing can strain jaw muscles, daily laxative teas disrupt natural bowel function, and unsupervised Panchakarma can be dangerous. Forcing water intake or consuming cold drinks first thing in the morning can also negatively impact digestion.
