ICC Penalises Batters For Wasting Time, Allows Pink Ball In Day Tests
Hindustan Times · sports
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has introduced new playing conditions across formats, effective October 1. Batters will now face penalty runs for wasting time, with a warning issued for the first two offences and five penalty runs for subsequent infringements. Umpires will also have more discretion in determining when a fielder has control of the ball for run-outs and stumpings. Additionally, pink balls can be used in daytime Tests if both teams mutually agree, aiming to reduce play lost due to bad light.
