डॉ. फारूक आजम ने कहा है कि जलवायु परिवर्तन के असर से हिमालयी क्रायोस्फीयर (ग्लेशियर, बर्फ और हिम) ज़्यादा खतरे में पड़ रहा है। यह इलाका एशिया के पानी के लिए बहुत ज़रूरी है। बढ़ते खतरे से वहां के इकोसिस्टम और पानी पर निर्भर इंसानों को बड़ा जोखिम है।
