Over 85% of Maharashtra's talukas are now classified as drought-affected, with the state government adding 40 more to the list, bringing the total to 305 out of 358. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that ₹5,000 will be transferred to farmers' bank accounts before Diwali as immediate financial assistance. This advance payment is necessary due to administrative delays in completing the full process before the festival. The government has also extended all 12 standard state drought relief concessions to these newly added talukas, including loan restructuring and electricity bill subsidies.

महाराष्ट्र के 85% से ज़्यादा तालुका अब सूखे से प्रभावित माने जा रहे हैं। राज्य सरकार ने 40 और तालुकाओं को इस सूची में जोड़ा है, जिससे कुल संख्या 358 में से 305 हो गई है। मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने घोषणा की है कि दिवाली से पहले किसानों के बैंक खातों में ₹5,000 तुरंत आर्थिक सहायता के तौर पर ट्रांसफर किए जाएंगे। यह एडवांस पेमेंट इसलिए ज़रूरी है क्योंकि त्यौहार से पहले पूरी प्रक्रिया पूरी करने में प्रशासनिक देरी हो रही है। सरकार ने इन नए जोड़े गए तालुकाओं में भी 12 मानक राज्य सूखा राहत रियायतें बढ़ा दी हैं, जिसमें लोन रीस्ट्रक्चरिंग और बिजली बिल सब्सिडी शामिल है।
