Indian Equities Reverse Early Gains, Sensex Tumbles Nearly 1,000 Points

Economic Times Markets · stocks

Indian equities reversed early gains on Monday, with the Sensex tumbling nearly 1,000 points from its day's high. Persistent FII selling, rising bond yields, and geopolitical concerns in the Middle East overshadowed initial optimism. Banking stocks led the decline after the RBI raised the daily CRR maintenance requirement. While large-cap stocks faced pressure from foreign fund selling, mid- and small-caps outperformed on expectations of a stronger Q2FY27 earnings season. US markets traded flat as investors remained cautious ahead of inflation data.
