The Karnataka government has informed the High Court that it will not enforce a circular mandating hospitals to disclose the landing price and MRP of medicines and medical devices on bills. This undertaking was given to the court on behalf of the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) during the hearing of a petition filed by private hospitals. The petitioners challenged the circular's legality, arguing the FSDA lacks the power to mandate disclosure of confidential commercial agreements.

कर्नाटक सरकार ने हाई कोर्ट को बताया है कि वह अस्पतालों के लिए दवाओं और मेडिकल उपकरणों की लैंडिंग कीमत और एमआरपी को बिलों पर बताने के आदेश को फिलहाल लागू नहीं करेगी। यह आश्वासन फूड सेफ्टी एंड ड्रग एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन (FSDA) की ओर से निजी अस्पतालों द्वारा दायर एक याचिका की सुनवाई के दौरान अदालत को दिया गया। याचिकाकर्ताओं ने इस आदेश की वैधता को चुनौती दी थी, उनका तर्क था कि FSDA के पास गोपनीय व्यावसायिक समझौतों के खुलासे को अनिवार्य करने की शक्ति नहीं है।
